ASL 101 — Elementary American Sign Language I
An introduction to American Sign Language (ASL), which is a natural and visual-gestural language used by deaf people in the Unites States and Canada. It covers finger spelling, signs, grammar, syntax, sentence structure, non-manual behaviors, basic communication techniques, and conversational skills as well as receptive and expressive language skill development. Discussion regarding deaf culture is incorporated.
