COM 201 — Introduction to Media Writing

3 credits · 3 hours

A foundation course in writing for print media, radio, television and the Web, including podcasts, social media and blogs. News, advertising, promotion/marketing and public relations styles are developed in a workshop setting. Students practice information gathering and utilize demographic and psychographic information to write for specific audiences. Legal and ethical implications of media writing are discussed.

Prerequisites: ENG 101
