EGR 223 — Microprocessor Architecture

An introduction to microprocessor systems. Topics will include microprocessor organization, memory interfacing and timing, programmable peripheral interface, timer interrupts, and the interrupt controller. Students will participate in a laboratory which provides hands-on experience in Assembly and C programming as it pertains to controlling and interfacing pheripheral devices in microprocessor systems.

Prerequisites: EGR 183, EGR 222
