PSY 276 — The Family and Chemical Dependency

This course takes a family systems approach as an introduction to addiction. Family dynamics will be explored to gain an understanding of chemical dependency as the central theme around which family life is organized. The transmission of chemical dependency will be studied, focusing on the psychology of the family and the relationship of drugs and alcohol to family and individual development. Meets CASAC approval.

Prerequisites: PSY 101, PSY 175
