Emphasis is placed on voice leading tasks, part writing, and analysis using various labeling systems. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate harmonic principles through four-voice part writing, recognize and label non-harmonic tones, analyze chords using Roman numerals, figured bass, and lead sheet symbols, and classify small-scale phrase structure and cadence types.
