AFA102 — Psychology of African Americans
3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. This course meets the Diversity Requirement. Explore basic theoretical and philosophical perspectives in the field of African-American psychology. Review history of African Americans and impact of historical events on the psychological well-being of African Americans. Discuss racism and discrimination and its impact on the African-American family, the education and achievement of African Americans, African- American identity development and other pertinent issues relevant to the lifestyles of African Americans.
