3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. Study feature-length films made independently of mainstream Hollywood, focusing on issues of narrative convention and audience expectation, race, gender and sexual orientation. Study filmmakers who choose to remain free of Hollywood’s ideological constraints or are unable to secure funding for their films within the industry.
