CJS114 — Probation and Parole

3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. Study of the origins of probation and parole with emphasis on contemporary approaches to corrections. Topics include pre-sentence investigation, functions and activities of probation officers, evaluation of programs, supervision of offenders and limitations as well as the future of correctional institutions.
