3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. Formerly PSY 214H - Abormal Psychology - Honors This is an honors course. This course meets the Social & Behavioral Sciences General Education Requirement. This course meets the Diversity Requirement. Gain a foundational understanding of the major perspectives and models used in psychopathology, including how they shape our understanding of mental disorders. Learn how disorders are assessed and diagnosed using established criteria, and explore evidence-based approaches to treatment and management. Examine key research that informs current knowledge in the field, and consider the ethical, social, and cultural factors that influence how mental health concerns are understood and addressed in practice.
