The Engine Performance Certificate signifies that the student has developed the knowledge and skills in the diagnosis and repair of various types of engine mechanical, ignition, fuel, emission, computer controlled systems on vehicles having drivability and engine performance malfunctions. This training will equip students to seek entry level employment at various automotive dealerships, independent repair shops, performance shops, construction companies, agriculture companies, government agencies, or other transportation and vehicle fleet repair shops. Students earning this certificate will be prepared to further pursue certification through ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) in the A8 and L1 areas as well as certification for the BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) Specified Diagnostic and Repair training.
