BIO-225 — Invertebrate Zoology

4 Lab Hour(s) 3 Lecture Hour(s) This is a survey of the organisms without backbones, the invertebrates. Topics include the taxonomic concepts of cladistics versus the Linnaean phylogenetic study of these organisms. Concepts such as prostomates vs. deuterostomates, the development of the coelom, metamorphosis, etc., will be discussed. Laboratory sessions include external and internal examinations [dissections] of these organisms and descriptive and practical reinforcement of lecture materials. Prerequisite(s): BIO-101 ; BIO-203 Syllabus for this course
