SUR-105 — Microbial Applications in Surgery/Surgical Asepsis

3 Lecture Hour(s) This course focuses on pathogens, and infections that are common to the operating room. Emphasis is placed on microorganisms associated with surgical site infections. A surgical conscience, factors that increase the risk of infection, and methods of transmission will be studied. This course includes decontamination, disinfection, sterilization and agents, the principles of asepsis, and the practice of sterile technique.
