WGS-110 — Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies
3 Lecture Hour(s) This course is an interdisciplinary introduction to historical and contemporary constructions of gender. Using discipline-specific theories and methods, students will explore the historical and contemporary understandings of sex and gender, and how concepts of gender have changed over time. Students will analyze representation of women, men, trans, and non-binary people using history, literature, philosophy, visual studies, popular culture, and mass media.
