MUS-108 — Music Theory I

A study of tonal harmony beginning with a brief theory review. Course topics include principles of voice leading; root position voice leading; harmonic progression; chords in first, second, and third inversions; cadences; and non-chord tones. Students will analyze and write in accordance with the principles studied.
