ATSC 110 — Meteorology

Credits: 3 Corequisite: Concurrent registration in, or previous successful completion of, ATSC 110L . Typically Offered: SPRING ATSC 110 is an introductory course in Meteorology designed for the non-technical student. The course provides an overview of the atmospheric structure and the factors that can affect weather. The class will communicate the importance of temperature, pressure, and humidity for the development of clouds and precipitation. Additionally, this course will cover the development of mid-latitude cyclones, hurricanes, thunderstorms and global climate change, as well as recent advances in forecasting and remote sensing.
