ELPW 114 — Industrial Safety & Health

Credits: 3 Typically Offered: FASPSU This course introduces essential safety and health practices specific to the electrical industry. Students will explore safe work procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), chemical safety, control of hazardous energy (Lockout/Tagout), and the safe operation of tools and machinery. Emphasis is placed on electrical hazard recognition, electrical protection methods, and industry standards such as OSHA and NFPA 70E. Throughout the course, the importance of personal responsibility and maintaining environmentally sound, safety conscious work habits will be reinforced.
