ELTR 205 — Electrical Services

Credits: 3 Prerequisite: Admitted into Electrician Technician program or departmental approval. Typically Offered: FALL This course provides a comprehensive study of electrical service entrance requirements and installation procedures. Topics include service materials, conduit and conductor sizing, service panels, meters, grounding, bonding, and overcurrent protection. Students will learn to apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements for service installations, calculate electrical service loads, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Emphasis is placed on proper installation techniques, troubleshooting common service issues, and best practices for electrical safety. Through hands-on exercises and theoretical instruction, students will develop the skills necessary to install, inspect, and maintain residential, commercial, and industrial electrical service equipment.
