EMS 208 — Introduction to Advanced Pre-Hospital Care

Credits: 2 Typically Offered: FALL This is an introductory course for the Paramedic student. It will build on the knowledge gained during the students EMT-Basic education and experiences and introduces the student to the expanded role of the Paramedic. Topics include roles and responsibilities, EMS systems, the well-being of the paramedic, illness and injury prevention, medical/legal issues, ethics, general principles of pathophysiology, therapeutic communications, and life span development.
