FIN 480 — Financial Modeling
Credits: 3 Prerequisites: FIN 336 , and FIN 337 . Typically Offered: SPRING This course presents various strategies to model accounting and financial issues for planning and forecasting. Students will determine the relevant issues and informational constraints and determine if a spreadsheet model or financial modeling software would be the better approach. Learn how to identify relevant issues and define and structure needed. Identify inputs and output variables, understand financial and mathematical aspects, design models or acquire models as appropriate, create financial models, develop scenario and real options features, stress test model, protect the model, write the documentation needed for users, and professionally present results.
