Occupational Skills Award in Early Childhood Education Administration

The recipient of this award who has completed additional child development courses in the Early Childhood Education Certificate and/or in the Early Childhood Education AAS and has at least two years’ experience in a licensed child‐care facility will meet and exceed the Texas Department of family and Protective Services‐Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers educational requirements established for a director of a licensed child‐care center (pages 33‐34 of the October 2018 Minimum Standards for Child‐Care Centers). Students interested in this certificate must have at least 1 year of experience in child care, have completed 6 hours of child development coursework (TECA/CDEC 1311 and CDEC 1313 preferred) and have approval of the Early Childhood Education Program Coordinator before beginning this award.
