EDET150 — Fundamentals of Electricity

Fundamentals of Electricity provides students with an overview of the ways in which power is distributed from generation to industrial and residential customers. Students will be introduced to essential industry terminology and materials. Following this course, students will understand and be able to analyze Ohm’s Law, Magnetism, DC Series & Parallel Circuits, Basic AC Series & Parallel Circuits, Inductance, Reactance, Capacitance, Poly-phase and 3 Phase Circuits, and Basic “Y” single- phase transform bank connections. A.S. and preemployment screening by First Energy or a degree seeking student in Electric Distribution Engineering Technology Certificate or Electric Distribution Engineering Technology, A.A.S.
