Introduces the prospective teacher to the study of education and Educator Preparation Programs (EPP). Focuses on the self as a learner, the nature of education, and an introduction to other practical issues in the daily lives of today’s teacher (i.e., lesson planning, formal and informal assessments). Based on readings and field experiences, the student will develop a philosophical and practical understanding of teaching and learning in today’s public-school classroom. EDUC 150 also introduces the student to the characteristics of Teacher as Reflective Problem Solver (TARPS).
