MET120 — Statics
This is a Vector mechanics course covering concepts of forces, moments, couples, resultants; equilibrium of particles and rigid bodies in two and three dimensions; forces in trusses, frames and machines; centroids and centers of mass for lines, areas and volumes; distributed loads, internal shear-force and bending-moment calculations for beams; dry fiction; area moments of inertia and the parallel-axis theorem. Prerequisite(s): MATH 100A - Algebra Essentials , MATH 102 - Technical Mathematics , MATH 105 - ^Algebra , or placement
