VET103 — Animal Diseases & Nursing I
This course is an introduction to veterinary technology. It will involve an examination of technical skills involving patient wellness to include: preventative health programs, general husbandry, handling and restraint, clinical nutrition and an introduction to common animal diseases. Exam room techniques to include history and physical examination and medical record completion will be detailed as well. The student will additionally learn about OSHA related concerns within the veterinary setting to include zoonotic diseases and human health hazards associated with veterinary medicine as well as a discussion on behavior of domestic animals.
