VET112L — Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging

This course provides foundational training in veterinary diagnostic imaging, with an emphasis on proper radiographic positioning and technique. Students will learn to safely operate radiographic equipment, apply radiation safety protocols, and perform accurate exposures across small animals, large animals, and exotics. Building on core skills, the course introduces advanced imaging modalities including ultrasonography and endoscopy. Lectures and hands-on labs will reinforce image acquisition, interpretation principles, and equipment maintenance. Throughout the course, students will develop proficiency in animal handling and restraint specifically for imaging procedures, adapting techniques to suit various species and clinical situations.
