ACR CLIP95 — CLIP Reading III

This course provides a supportive environment in which English language learners practice the reading habits of high intermediate to advanced reading in English, including paraphrasing, clarifying, inferring, and use of evidence. Reading is followed by discussion so students can check their comprehension after spending intensive time reading a rich variety of fiction and nonfiction. CLIP offers the opportunity to improve academic reading skills and confidence before entering credit-bearing college courses. This course takes an integrated approach to reading and writing, emphasizing write-to-learn strategies; therefore the course must be taken concurrently with ESL CLIP 95. Successful completion of this course indicates reading proficiency.
