EDU 320 — Language and Literacy for Emergent and Intermediate Readers and Writers

This course examines the development of language and literacy skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) in emergent and intermediate readers and writers. It provides a comprehensive exploration of theoretical foundations, research-based instructional strategies, and equitable assessment strategies to support critical literacy development in diverse classroom settings. Special emphasis is placed on developing inclusive, empowering and engaging learning environments for all learners that inspire a lifelong appreciation for reading and writing.
