BIO W23 — Bio 23 Prep Workshop

A two-week intensive workshop that covers the chemical and cellular basics needed for the first portion of Anatomy and Physiology I (BIO 23). This will help students get a head start in better understanding basic content information at the same time as reinforcing and establishing independent study skills. The course is arranged into 8 sessions of 3 hours each covering basic biological chemistry, macromolecules, cell membrane structure and transport. Time permitting an overview of electrically excitable cells, with basics of Na+/K+ involvement in membrane potential changes completes the workshop. A pre-test is administered at the start of session I and a post-test is given in session 8
