NUR 201 — Nur Care Across Life Span II
This course focuses on the care of clients with mental health and medical/ surgical conditions. The course serves as an introduction to disease processes and health alterations across the life span. Students will learn how to provide safe, competent, compassionate, evidence based patient-centered care for pediatric and adult clients, families and support person(s). Students will participate in collaboration and teamwork within the complex healthcare environment, utilizing informatics, to communicate and participate in quality improvement/performance activities within the ethical and legal framework of nursing practice. Through the clinical experiences provided, students will be expected to develop clinical reasoning/nursing judgment skills which will build on basic concepts learned in the level I nursing courses. Clinical learning experiences will take place in psychiatric, pediatric, adult medical surgical and community healthcare settings.
