SPN 109 — Span for Health Professions II
This course is designed for students who, because of occupational necessity, will communicate with Spanish-speaking patients and hospital personnel who may have limited English proficiency. Through coursework, readings, and conversations modeled after authentic healthcare contexts, students will learn practical vocabulary related to the healthcare field; develop intermediate to advanced reading, writing, and listening comprehension skills; and discuss health-related cultural and social issues important to Spanish-speaking communities. The course will be conducted in Spanish.
