HUMN230 — Women and Science
This course provides an interdisciplinary examination of women's relationship to the natural sciences, mathematics and technology. The social construction of gender and race will be examined along with a feminist critique of science. The history of women in science and the experiences of contemporary women scientists will be included along with the impact of science and technology on women's lives. Course materials include case studies and autobiographical narratives, films, as well as theory and sociological analysis. NOTE: This course is offered only in the Fall term. (Prerequisite: ENGL-121)
