IART107 — Introduction to Art History
This course deals with Art History from ancient Greece through the Modern Age, up to the 20th century. Great emphasis will be given to the most important artistic events and personalities that contributed to the artistic development of the different periods and styles. Historical, social and religious points will be examined in relation to art. Empasis will be on Italian art, particularly Renaissance Art. Visits to musuems, churches, and monmuments in Florence will allow for a direct and physical comprehension.
