IENG213 — Reading & Writing Poetry
The study and discussion of the works of a range of poets, whose poems reflect the variety of forms and techniques used in contemporary poetry. The analysis and explication of these poems, with a focus on elements such as imagery, structure, rhythm, setting and diction. The critique of the stuctural and figurative approaches and techniques used by the poets in these poems. The application of such elements and techniques to, and experimentation with such elements and echniques in, students' own poetry writing. The workshopping of students' own poems.
