IHIS157 — Intro to New Zealand History
Combining pizzazz with solid scholarship, this course challenges traditional interpretations of our past, including historical myths and stereotypes of New Zealanders. You will be encouraged to interpret New Zealand's history through new lenses such as 'race', family, community, gender, sport, sexuality and citizenship. Through the legends of this land and its people, we shall concern ourselves with Aotearoa/New Zealand as dynamic pre and post- colonial space. This is often a terrain of unease, disease, conflict and redress.
