Subjects covered will include a discussion of the "liberal pluralist" model of journalism, in which students will consider the work of late 20th century and early 21st century journalists such as John Pilger, Sizanne Moore and Paul Foot. Examples such as reportage covering issues such as asylum seeking, prostitution and drugs will be compared to the 19th century social observation journalist.
