ILIT267 — Studies Renaissance Literature
This course will offer an historical introduction to the variety of writing produced during the English Renaissance, covering a range of genres. We will focus on several key themes in Renaissance literature: the humanist assessment of politics, the relative merits of a life of action versus one of contemplation, the representation of feminity, and attitudes to romantic and sexual love, death and religion.
