ILNG101 — Basic Quechua
Introductory study of the language and its different contexts: historical, sociolinguistic, and cultural. Study of the fundamental structures of the language and incorporation of the basic vocabulary necessary for oral and written communications. Dealing with the two forms of unified writing at the Ecuadorian and Andean level. Practical conversational exercises in the classroom and countryside, with the end result of improving the different linguistic skills of; listening, speaking and writing. Study of texts in the oral tradition of different dialects of the Ecuadorian highlands. Field trips to the country side.
