ISOC166 — Intro to Japanese Society

The aim of the course is to gain knowledge of basic Japanese society.In this class we will look at Japanese social relationships and institutions. We will examine the ways in which the forms of social structure --groups, organizations, communities, social categories (such as class, sex, age, or race), and various social institutions (such as kinship, economic, political, or religious) affect the attitudes, actions, and opportunities of the Japanese people.
