PSYC222 — Social Aspects of Addiction

This course explores the addicted clients' interpersonal milieu and the impact of their social situation on their lifestyle. The course focuses on the role of families and communities in the addictive process. The issues that are the focus of this course are community and professional education, socio-cultural aspects of drug and alcohol addiction, socio-cultural sensitivity and education, community involvement, and family counseling. NOTE: This course is offered only in the Spring term. (Prerequisite: PSYC-125)
