EAS 210 - Mountain Geology and Climate EAS 210 - Mountain Geology and Climate This course entails an in-depth study of processes affecting topography in mountainous regions, focusing on the geological and meteorological aspects of mountain formations. The geological portion of study includes rock formations and units of the region, orogenesis (mountain formation), glacial geology and mass wasting. The meteorological portion of study includes the climatology of the region, orographic uplift and the influence of mountains on severe and hazardous weather. The highlight of the course is intensive field study in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, including hiking of five or more miles per day with significant elevation gain.
