MET 220 - Programming CNC Machine Tools MET 220 - Programming CNC Machine Tools An introductory course in the fundamentals and some of the advanced principles of CNC Milling/Turning. Topics to include: Introduction to NC/CNC Machinery (history, input media and tooling), New Part Production Set-up, Typical Controller Operations (store, load and edit programs) and Manual Part Programming of CNC machine tools using the industry standard “G” and “M” Codes. Be familiar with the controls of a typical CNC machine. Program basic linear and circular part geometry. Know when and how to use subprograms, cutter compensation and canned cycles. Make necessary corrections to programs and machine set-up to run quality parts.
