PSY 211 - Child Development (WE) PSY 211 - Child Development (WE) An overview of the growth and development of the child from conception to adolescence including cognitive, physical, social and psychological changes. Major theories and research related to child development. This course is designated as a writing emphasis course (WE). Describe major concepts and theories within developmental psychology. Identify psychological theories and models of child development. Discuss the role of biological, psychological, cognitive and social processes in child development. Use a multi-stage writing process to write effectively using tools and/or forms appropriate to the discipline of Psychology. Clearly articulate an issue or problem. Identify, analyze, and evaluate ideas, data, and arguments as they occur in their own or others’ work. Acknowledge limitations of ideas, data and arguments as they occur in their own or others’ work. Develop well-reasoned (logical) arguments to form judgments and/or draw conclusion. Use a multi-stage writing process to write effectively using tools and/or forms appropriate to the field of Psychology.
