ECE-116 — Introduction to Early Childhood Education

This introductory level course will introduce foundational concepts in the field of early childhood education such as play, theories of trauma, anti-bias education and child development domains. Students will explore diverse educational settings for young children, professionalism and planning intentional developmentally-appropriate experiences for young children. Topics include national early learning standards, state regulations, program types, career options, professionalism, ethical conduct, quality inclusive environments, and curriculum responsive to the needs of each child/family.
