ESL-097 — Academic Discussions & Presentations
This advanced course focuses on the communication skills necessary in an academic setting. Students develop and improve a method for delivering an oral presentation to a large group using effective delivery, visual aids, secondary sources, and level-appropriate academic vocabulary. Students practice comprehensible pronunciation along with stress and intonation patterns. All speaking activities are organized around academic reading materials which students will write about and discuss in small groups. Students must earn a C or better in order to pass the course. Gen.
