Through an exploration of plays by Sophocles and Shakespeare and critical readings based on the plays, the course will focus on themes that include prophecy and free will; speaking the truth to power; defining evil; and, finally, confronting evil. This is an Honors course, which counts as an Honors requirement for students in the Commonwealth Honors Program. This course meets the General Education requirement for Creative Work. Gen. Ed.
