This course will enable the student to explain media theory and operation and the history of mass media - newspapers, magazines, radio, television, books, film, recordings and new electronic media. The student will learn to recognize and appraise the rapid changes that occur within the different mass media industries, to define how the media are related and identify how the mass media impact society.
