CHEM 180 - Applied Science for Civil CHEM 180 - Applied Science for Civil Total Hours: 75 This chemistry course emphasizes the chemistry of water, the detection of pollutants and water treatment. Students will study basic concepts in chemistry, gases, solubility, electrolytes, pH, pollutants and methods of detection, natural cycles of nitrogen, phosphorus and carbon as well as the role of bacteria. Applications to civil engineering are included throughout the course.
