HIST 120 - European History: 1450 to 1789 HIST 120 - European History: 1450 to 1789 Total Hours: 45 In this course, students will trace the development of intellectual, political, scientific, religious, economic, and social foundations of modern Europe from the Renaissance to the French Revolution. It focuses on the growth of cities and increasing centralization of states leading to the Age of Absolutism; the emergence of Humanism and the Enlightenment as intellectual challenges to the existing order; and the religious upheavals of the Reformation and the conflicts that followed.
