MATH 142 - Reasoning About Numbers & Algebra for Education MATH 142 - Reasoning About Numbers & Algebra for Education Total Hours: 75 Designed for prospective elementary school teachers, this course provides students with a solid grounding in fundamental mathematical methods and concepts with which to teach math at an elementary school level. Topics include: reasoning about quantities, numeration systems and their properties, numerical operations with applications, mental computation and estimation, meaning for fractions and computing with fractions, multiplicative comparisons and reasoning, the set of real numbers and its subsets, elementary number theory, and basic algebra.
