SOC 112 - ”Race” and Ethnicity in Canada SOC 112 - ”Race” and Ethnicity in Canada Total Hours: 45 Students will explore the sociology of “race” and ethnicity within the context of contemporary Canadian multiculturalism. Students will examine how current understandings of “race” and ethnicity affect life in Canada and how racism and ethnocentrism function within Canadian political and social life. Students will also explore the legacies of colonialism in Canada and the roles of multiculturalism and anti-racism in overcoming inequality. Prerequisites One of: C+ in English 12 C in English 12 Camosun Alternative
